Casey, Anthony and Montana welcome their little Rainbow bundle, Nash
2 year old Montana was already a big sister when Baby Nash arrived in 2019 but unfortunately her baby sister, Brooklyn was born sleeping at 22 weeks gestation.
Brooklyn was conceived naturally however, at 15 weeks, Casey suffered heavy bleeding and doctors were unable to find a cause. A tertiary ultrasound was performed at 19 weeks and the results were normal. A second ultrasound at 21 weeks told a different story. There was no fluid around the baby.
Casey went into labour at 1.30am just one week after that scan. Brooklyn was born at exactly 22 weeks without Casey even knowing she was in labour, just making it to the Emerald Hospital in time. With Anthony on night shift, Casey was accompanied by her Mum for this tragic and heart shattering experience.
Further tests revealed that Casey had suffered Pre-term premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) at 20 weeks. This resulted in an infection, which induced the early labour. Apart from the bleeding, there were no other causes for concern, making the loss even more difficult to accept.
A service was held at the local gardens where the family were surround by the love and support of their nearest and dearest. Bubbles were blown as Brooklyn was driven away and there was a Kookaburra that sat and watched the entire service from a nearby tree. As Anthony carried Brooklyns coffin, the Kookaburra flew straight in front of him…Brooklyn was letting everyone know that she was there and watching.
Casey and Anthony would like to wish Melissa Newman at Emerald Hospital, their thanks and gratitude for being amazing throughout and for her assistance with the pregnancy of Baby Nash.
Another thank you goes out to Ruth and Andrew Poletto for attending the funeral home and taking family photographs. Carl and Emerald Funerals also receive a special mention for the hard work in making Brooklyn’s service so special.
We wish Casey, Anthony and Montana all the very best with their newest addition to the family, Baby Nash. Brooklyn will forever live on in your hearts and minds.
